Looking at DVD Menus; Whatever Words #13
Ever since watching The Godfather, which I am currently writing a post about, I’ve taken a deeper look at DVD menu screens. Once I make the post you’ll understand why, but so far— comparing it to the other two recent movies I’ve seen— The Godfather has a good menu screen. Late Night with the Devil and The Lobster have simple DVD menu screens that show very little, but that works with the type of story they’re trying to tell. The Godfather just elevated it a step further.
If I ever became a film-creative, I think I would like to focus on trailers and compare them to the actual movies. My big inspiration is how much I HATE when trailers spoil the whole movie, especially if they reveal the last scene of the movie. Yes, this happens. Spoilers for The Apparition, but the shot of Ashley Greene being covered in hands does not happen until the very end. That’s the very end of the movie and they use that shot in trailers and pretty similar to the movie poster. Recently, I was inspired again when watching a trailer for The VVitch when watching The Lobster. Pretty much the whole movie was shown, just in a jumbled-up order.
Getting real close in finishing Metaphor. I was stuck fighting this tough optional boss, but I figured it out eventually so now I can move on…to the NEXT optional tough boss. Oh what fun I am having. DQ3HD-2DR can wait. And yes, I plan to abbreviate the title like this every time because I find it quite funny. Honestly though, at this rate I will probably be busy with Metaphor for the rest of the year since I do want to get all achievements for it. The game deserves my time and I shall give it!
