Just A Lot of Game Stuff; Whatever Words #12

As I’ve been playing these Pokemon fan-made games, I’ve gone back to Unbond. I played it on my Steam Deck, but now I am restarting on my phone. Whenever I replay a Pokemon game, I always aim to use a different team and setup. In Unbond, your starter can be Beldum, who I picked the first time, Larvitar, who I used as a starter in a different game, and Gible, who I picked this time around. Since I’ve been playing these games, I decided to support the emulator I’ve been using and paid for the pro edition. Only a few dollars so it was nothing crazy. I was worried because I had started the game on the free version, and I had to transfer my save state to the paid version. Trouble at first, but I was luckily able to figure it out, so I do not have to restart for a third time.

Metaphor update, I am really close to beating the game. This past weekend I locked in and had time to play, now I’m in the final act. I am enjoying this game so much; I really do plan to start new game plus immediately after and aim to get all achievements. This does mean that DQ3HD-2DR (Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake) will be played on a later date. I definitely need a break after Metaphor with something smaller. Playing back-to-back lore heavy games burns me out, and I want to make sure I’m all in to explore the world when playing Dragon Quest

Finally, back on the book reading. I requested a book to be ordered from my local library and they said they would on their next purchase. The Jason Schreier new book Play Nice. For now, I’ve checked out his previous book Blood, Sweat, and Pixels since it was available. I haven’t started reading it yet, because I’ve also checked out multiple other books. Currently, reading a book that goes over how to win a lot of basic games, such as Monopoly, Risk, checkers, etc. They also go into games like pillow fighting and apple bobbing which is an interesting choice, and feels like some games were added for padding.

Also going to make my partner play more chess with me. We play every so often, but they still don’t remember what all the pieces do so they lose interest in playing. Hoping that if we play more frequently, they will pick it up and push me to be a better player. I mean, I would rather force them to play games such as Settlers of Catan or Monopoly, but it is hard to do with only two people. Yes, you can play Monopoly with only two people, but I want my partner to want to play again, not hate me for life.
