Back to Pokemon; Whatever Words #11
So far, I have not beaten the game so this is a prediction, but I think Metaphor: ReFantazio will end up as one of my favorite games of all time. The game is fun, story is good, the main theme I am into, the art direction is spectacular, like so far this game has it all. I will say that I am using a guide to help me through it, to make sure I am hitting all the key points. Part of me believes I will want to play this game again, but I won’t know for sure until I beat it.
I have started playing Pokemon Outlaw, a fan-made ROM hack that takes place in FireRed, but with a different twist. Very mature themed, not made for kids. The creator made another Rom hack that I’m interested in playing called Cawps, where you play as cop. I had a lot of fun with Rocket Edition, where you play as a member of Team Rocket, so playing another game with a different theme sounds fun. The Pokemon Roms I tend to enjoy have their own story to tell, while I ignore the ones that make the game harder. Nothing wrong with higher difficulty ROMs like Radical Red, but those are not the ones I am searching for. With Outlaw so far, I’ve made my way to Cerulean city, and I enjoy the changes made. I enjoy going back to familiar places with changes to the world. There’s no Viridian forest, but instead a trainer rush of bug catchers. No Mt. Moon to explore, but you get to challenge a group of Team Rocket members and cops to battle before reaching Cerulean city.
I noticed that for my phone games, I can only really stick with two. Anything more than two, I tend to forget about them and don’t keep up with the content. For right now, my phone games are Pokemon TCG Pocket and Pokemon Outlaw. I know it has become very Pokemon heavy, but since there’s no actual mainline Pokemon game, I have that craving Outlaw is hitting. I’ve also stopped playing NYT Games, which is good timing for me since the tech workers just went on strike. I even uninstalled the app just to make sure I don’t accidentally play it at this time.
TCG Pocket has me gripped, tight. I am using all my resources and opening up these packs. No money has been spent, but we’ll see what happens as time goes on. It really depends on the content they add and how fast. A new event has started, but when will we get new packs to open? Next year? I’m sure they will do some Holiday event in December, but new packs will be needed early next year or people will lose interest.
I really didn’t think I would be going back to Pokemon at this time, but here I am.
