Reply back to me; Apartment Inspections

Okay so this all started four weeks ago. We received notice from our apartment complex that a worker will be coming by each apartment to check smoke detectors and AC filters. That’s fine, but I have a pet and would like to know when someone would be entering my apartment. I emailed asking if we could be notified when they were coming by to make sure the pet wouldn’t be in the way and got no response. Luckily, I was home when the dude came by, and everything went smoothly. Funnily, we had taken a smoke detector down because it had started beeping. When the guy came to check, he didn’t even notice– or didn’t care– that it wasn’t on the wall. I had to stop him and inform him about the beeping before he busted out new batteries for it.

This procedure was going to take two weeks to get every apartment checked. We did not get notified that our place was inspected, but I thought maybe it was because I was home for it. Then came the notice of another inspection for fireplaces. We have one, unused. This was going to be another two-week apartment check, but this time we had to remove everything from the mantle above the fireplace. Annoyed, we moved all our decorations to the bedroom in a jumbled mess until we could move it all back. Two weeks had passed, and no notice was received…again. We had no clue when the person— if they even came by— had showed up and checked our fireplace. Furniture had to be moved because they didn’t want anything near it for the inspection, and we have a rocking chair that sat next to it. So, for the past two weeks, the space near the fireplace was empty while the other side of the room had been cramped with furniture and a bedroom dresser with a pile of knick-knacks on top.

My main issue this time is that I had emailed them again, just asking if we would be notified when the inspection was done. Again, no reply. I get it if you couldn’t tell me when the inspector would come by, or if you couldn’t even inform me when they had, but no response, at all? Like, I don’t cause any issues, I haven’t put in any complaints, I just want to be informed. You can’t even just reply telling me there’s nothing you could do? I would have been the best person to reply to because I would be like, “No worries, just wanted to check if we could be notified. Thanks for the help.” Like a considerate adult.
