Could I be Joy Boy?
What's a pirates favorite letter?
Tis the C!
My favorite pirate joke. Initially people go "Arrrr" which could be a correct answer, but it's always fun to switch it on them. So really, if you're just asking one person, you can always tell them the other letter for the joke to still work.
International Talk Like A Pirate Day. I never call it my birthday anymore, I see no fun in that. To me, I understand why people would want to celebrate other people's birthdays because they're happy that they were born and want to celebrate with them. When it's my own birthday, well to me it's just any other day. It feels more like a marker, every year I get closer and closer...to Davy Jones locker, for the sea is where I belong! Argh!
Pirate stuff has always been a part of my life growing up. References in SpongeBob, like with the Flying Dutchman, Pirates of the Caribbean movies, literally about pirates, and the biggest one right now, One Piece. Even with sports, my dad's favorite baseball team is the Pittsburgh Pirates. My dad was in the Navy, the closest thing to a legal real life pirate. And here I am born on the joke holiday of talking like a pirate. Literally born the first day it started.
I'll end this post with one of my favorite random facts about pirates. The purpose of the eye patch, other than for those who lost an eye, was for entering dark places, like caves. When they enter, they would remove (or open? Flip?) the eye patch and they could see in the dark with the eye that's been covered. Because the eye patch eye was covered/closed, it's already adjusted for dark viewing. But the real reason they had an eye patch...was because they couldn't afford an iPad, arrrgh!
